However, the issue of what category of knowledge is permitted for Muslims, the method for imparting this knowledge, and what to impart (content) are arguably the main challenges in Islamic education. Finally, this study is expected to contribute to the concept of Islamic character values, being the fundamental dimension to instill the human soul with spiritual character values, and consequently become the significant assimilation based on Quran and Hadith.Įducation is important for every Muslim society as the Prophet made it incumbent on all Muslims. The result of this study reveals that there are some character values in term of Islamic pattern. Several literature studies obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the pattern of Islamic character values in the light of al-Zarnj's Talim al-Mutaallim, which has been used among the Muslim countries as the main principles of educational implementation, mainly in Islamic institutions. In terms of being a person with noble characters, actualisation of Islamic values is considered as an important effort to build and instil Islamic ideology as the way of life, since the development of human character in Islam is mostly a process of absorbing one's passion towards such values. Finally, this research is highly expected to contribute the recommendation of conception in curricula in the process of education. The result shows that there are several sigfinificant kinds of knowledge united to ilmu hȃl comprising the science of belief as Tawhid, Islamic juriprudence as Fiqh and moral as akhlak.

For gathering information, this study is conducted through qualitative research using descriptive analysis. Through this scrutiny, the ultimate aim of this study is to highlight the model of curriculum in the light of al-Zarnuji in the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim, the monumental significant book containning basic principles in education, which has been used among the Moslem world in the context of character education. Education from the Islamic perspective, as a long life process and the function of Islamic religious education, should endeavor to teach and help students acquire different aspects of knowledge within the parameters of Islam through the use of a well designed curriculum.
